Working as a Team: My First ARD Meeting

BIANCA SALINAS: My very first ARD, the lady was not happy and she was very overwhelmed with stacks of paper. She didn't want to hear what we had to say. She was trying to rush out of there. I didn't understand what she had against my child. But as I started going to the school and being a proactive parent and saying, hey, what can I do to help, I started seeing how they were understaffed pressure testing these kids. So what me and my family did, we went in there and we tried to make their job easier. We asked them what they needed. Can we come in and help? Do you mind if we come and sit in? There is no I in team at all. It's a team effort.

Through a personal story, this video highlights a parent’s first ARD (admission, review, and dismissal) meeting experience, focusing on the importance of empathy, collaboration, and building strong relationships with educators.
